I love a good girls night in. It’s always fun to go out and get crazy but there is something to be said about staying in with your girls, having some cocktails, conversation and laughs. Keep on reading for the 7 best girls night in ideas to elevate your next Friday night.
Attempt a Pinterest DIY
You can search for any type of DIY project on Pinterest. There are literally thousands of ideas curated just for you. While browsing keep in mind the harder to make, the more fun and laughs you’ll have guaranteed! Wine is probably a necessity for this girls night in. Here are a few of my favorites to get you started:
Try this marble coffee mug for a sweet and simple DIY
Try this tutorial for a eucalyptus scented homemade candle (tip: you can really use any scent of oil for these candles!)
Become a Mixologist
Channel your favorite bottle flipping bartender and come up with your own cocktail creations. Have a spread of liquor, mixes, fruit, spices, ect. Each person can create their own cocktail or mocktail and then all can judge each drink and vote for their favorite! If you need a little mixologist inspiration check out these favorites:
I made this Giggle Juice from delish for a get together and it was a hit!
Try something a little more complicated like this Hugo refreshing cocktail. Be careful though, you won’t just have one.
Transform your home (okay, maybe just your living room) into a tranquil spa. Light candles, lay big comfy pillows on the floor and put on some chill music. Plan a night of facials, mini manicures, and pedicures. It’s a great way to relax while enjoying spending time your gal pals. Also, don’t forget the appetizers and refreshments!
Pajama and Movie Night
Have your girls come to your house in their comfiest pajama’s. Pick a movie and make some popcorn or other treats. If you’re lucky enough to have a big enough backyard, you can set up a screen outside (a white sheet works great!) with a projector, lay down some blankets and big oversized pillows. If you have space to hang string lights, this will give your outdoor space or even your indoor space perfect lighting for the show. Probably one of my favorite girl’s night in!
Make Your Own Bracelets
It’s a throwback to elementary school. But really, bracelets are a fun fashion staple and it’s super easy to make your own. Buy beads, string and clasp’s if needed from your local craft store. Try this great detailed tutorial for how to make a sliding knot bracelet. If you’re looking for something more involved here is a tutorial for a Wish bracelet and here is another for a few patterns for friendship bracelets.
Have a Bunko Night
Have you heard of Bunko?! I went to a girl’s night in a few years ago and we played Bunko, drank wine and won money! It was a fun change of pace from our other get togethers. It’s a great game to play if you have a bunch of girls that don’t know each other super well. It involves always switching tables, so you are never sitting with the same people. Plus, it includes winning money! Read how to play here.
Pick a Theme (and then go over the top)
The options are endless if you go with a specific theme. Try to think of things that you and your girlfriends love or have in common and then elevate it by completely going over the top! For example, you could host an 80’s or 90’s party complete with side ponies and scrunchies (which are easy to find again), caboodles and neon! Bring your mixtape, poufy shoulders and slap bracelets and have a totally, like, awesome time.
Host a Clothes Swap
Have your girls bring any clothes and accessories that they don’t want or have a need for. You can swap or buy your friends clothes that you have always had an eye on. It’s a fun way to get some new clothes and know that your old threads are in good hands.
Having a girls night in is a great way to spend time with your circle. When you’re in the comfort of your own home it makes for a more meaningful get together with your best girls!
Okay, your turn – we all would love to hear! Have you hosted a girls night in!? What are some of your ideas?
